It's official, my daughter is obsessed with plastic bottles! Anytime she sees one - whether it's a Coke bottle or a water bottle or whatever - she does everything she can to grab it and even gets mad when she can't have it. She definitely gets the concept and knows which end to put in her mouth before tipping her head back to get something to drink. Only, we of course, don't let her actually drink anything from the bottle yet...we just wash them and let her play with them.
The funny part is that Rhea has so many toys and while she likes all of her toys and definitely plays with them, it sometimes seems like she would prefer to play with the plastic bottles! Think of all the money we could have saved just buying plastic bottles instead of the overpriced baby toys!!
The plastic obsession doesn't end with just the bottles either. She has some linking letters that she plays with and they are stored in a plastic bag, which clearly states that it is a choking hazard for babies. So, of course, every time we take out the letters to play with, Rhea wants to play with the bag! We have learned to quickly dump out the letters and hide the bag before she can see it. It's like she knows what she shouldn't have and that's what she wants. I'm a little scared that this behavior is starting already :)

So cute! We save egg cartons, empty boxes of lasagna noodles, milk cartons and they each take a short stay in the toy bin. Plastic bottles are definitely a favorite item =) As for the plastic bags, wait until you see her figure out how to open a ziploc. Our baby girl can eat a snack out of one, with supervision of course =) ENJOY this magical time of discovery with Rhea!
Oh wait till you gice Rhea a small pan and a spoon. She'll think it is great.
