6 Months Today!

Rhea is 6 months today and I feel like she is changing every day. In just the past month, she has learned so many new things. Some highlights from the last month are:

--She now sits up completely unsupported and can play with toys while sitting up. She is starting to learn how to reach for toys that are slightly out of her reach, which usually means ending up on her belly!

--She still doesn't love tummy time, but she is starting to move while on her belly. Up until this month, she would just lay on her stomach and fuss. Now, she is starting to kick her legs and she is trying to wiggle around. You can tell she wants to move, she just hasn't figured out how.

--Her baby talk has increased and now sounds completely different. Before she would just make noises, but now she is trying to talk. She still hasn't said a real word, but her sounds are much closer to actual words - spppp spppp and blll blll (sorry, it's hard to put these sounds into words). I know any day we are going to hear mama or dada (I try to teach her this every day and daddy tries to teach her dada, so we'll see which once she picks up on first).

--She laughs all the time and we have been able to identify things that make her laugh - if we hold her in our arms and run forward, then run backward, it gets her everytime. She also laughs when she sees herself in the mirror.

--She loves to stand up on our laps and recently, we have stood her up on the floor, which she loves. She doesn't know what to do after that, so she is happy just standing up in once place checking things out.

--She is still in her infant bathtub, but over the past few nights, she has started sitting up in it vs. laying like it is made for. She has also finally started to play with the toys we have bought for the bathtub. She loves bathtime.

--Finally, she now wants to grab everything - mommy's necklace, mommy's hair, cups - you name it, she wants to grab it and put it in her mouth! She wants to touch and eat everything!

So, halfway to her 1st birthday and she has grown so much. We can't wait to see what the next 6 months will bring.
