Our friends Jason and Irene eloped in Las Vegas in December. Everyone was very happy when they heard the news and on Saturday we finally got to celebrate with them. Irene's family threw them a surprise wedding shower/reception. It was a lot of fun and they both seemed genuinely surprised and happy.
We brought Rhea with us to the party and she seemed to have a blast. She had so much to look at and take in and after a while was giving everyone who said hi to her a toothless smile! She also managed to sleep in the middle of the party with the music going and people cheering. Only a baby could do that!!
Rhea also got to play with her friend Haylee, who is 6 months older than her. It was fun to watch them look at each other and even interact a little. At one point, Rhea was playing with one of her toys and Haylee, who is walking, came by and snatched it right out of her hands!! Rhea handled it very well - she just looked at Haylee and then looked at mommy. Haylee gave Rhea the toy back a few minutes later anyway, so everything was fine.
The reception was nice - they had a wedding cake, which they both shoved in each other's faces, and the bride and groom had their first dance. They also had a bunch of champagne for the toast and we ended up with a whole bottle for our table. Needless to say, we didn't waste much!
This was the first of a few weddings we have on the calendar for this year. Even though Rhea was an angel at this one, we will be leaving Rhea with Memere for the next two :)
