Eggs, Easter Bunny and Hammm

Our Easter celebration was spread out over 2 days. By the time Easter ended for us, Rhea had taken part in 2 Easter egg hunts, visited with the Easter Bunny again, eaten Grandpa's yummy ham and opened lots of presents!

The highlights:

• Saturday morning we had "Breakfast with the Easter Bunny." It was a free event that the Army hosts and Uncle Brian got us on the list! Rhea had so much fun! She chowed on pancakes, sausage and lots of fruit, sat on the Easter Bunny's lap for all of 3 seconds (we did manage to get a picture during that time) and took part in an Easter egg hunt. The hunt was so cute - they did it by age group, so Rhea was in the 0-2 group and they had what looked like hundreds of eggs just laying on the ground. When they said go, all these little kids toddled in and started picking up eggs. I think Rhea ended up with 20 eggs!
• Later that day we went to Grandpa and Grandma M's house for an Easter feast. The food was so good and Rhea loved the hammm (she has turned this short word into a long one for some reason). Rhea also got to play with her cousin Arwen, meet her new cousin Rowan and try Tiramisu (just a little bit). Oh yeah, and mommy and daddy got to squeeze in some adult conversations and enjoy a delicious meal too!
• On Easter morning, the Easter Bunny brought Rhea a basket that had 2 new Sesame Street movies, 2 new books, a "Mermay" toy camera and best of all, Cheeses (Cheez-Its).
• Later that day we went to Auntie Sandy and Uncle Ray's house for the annual Easter egg hunt. This is a tradition I remember from when I was a little girl - it was honestly one of the highlights of Easter for me - and I think it was for Rhea too. After the practice egg hunt on Saturday, she definitely got the idea of finding eggs and putting them in her basket. Once we found her eggs, we went inside and hunted for presents! She got Yo Gabba Gabba toys, an awesome Red Sox dress, a new princess book and some bubbles for outside. Pepere also gave Rhea her first set of golf clubs (they are plastic of course). I think he is hoping to get the grand kids to join him on the golf course!

It was a fun weekend and it even made the 3 hour trip home worth it. Thanks everyone who made this such a special holiday for Rhea (and for me).
