Back To Normal

All has returned to normal in our house. Last night, Rhea was in bed and asleep at 7:00 pm with no complaints. She slept through the night and woke up at her usual time at 6:00 this morning. Phew!

In other news, Rhea seems to have learned a few new behaviors recently.

1. She now hands objects to people. If she has her toys in her hand, she will hand them to me. About 2 seconds later, she takes them back, of course, but it's nice to see her sharing at such a young age. Her generosity also extends to the cats - who she tries to hand toys to as well. It also extended to Vince this morning. Rachelle sent me a text message while I was driving to work saying that Rhea kept handing her keys to Vince and he would hold them when she gave them to him! Smart kids :)

2. Rhea is the master of emptying things and as I've mentioned before, this is one her favorite activities. Recently, she has started to also put things back. So when she empties my purse (a daily occurrence) and has everything spread out on the floor, she has now started picking the items up and putting them back in the purse...only to take them out again!

3. For all of her independence, Rhea still has times where she wants some love. She will be playing on the floor having a great time and all of the sudden she will crawl to me, pull herself up and reach up to me. When she does this I hold her for a minute, giving her hugs and kisses before putting her back on the floor. I really love those few minutes of cuddle time we now have.

4. Rhea loves exploring. We will be playing in the foyer and then all of the sudden, she will grab a toy near her and take off crawling to another room. Lately she always wants to take something with her when she goes from room to room. It's really funny. Especially when she is taking a big object like a toy car that makes the crawling a little awkward. But, somehow she finds a way to move while holding these things, so we let her do it.

In non-Rhea news, I wanted to say congratulations to my cousin Jeff and his wife Julianne on the birth of their daughter Isabelle Grace. She was born on Sunday, July 6. And although she was born 6 weeks early, we hear that she is very healthy. So, welcome Isabelle - we are happy to add another girl to the family. We can't wait to meet you.
