Play Dates!

After a long, cold winter and lots of illnesses, we finally got together with our friends Mark and Jenn on Saturday, which meant a playdate for Rhea and Maeve. They are 11 months apart and until know that 11 months might as well have been 11 years. Maeve was crawling when Rhea was born, walking when Rhea was crawling and running when Rhea was taking her first steps. Now, however, Rhea can keep up with Maeve, so we were anxious to see how they would play together.

Overall, I think they had fun. It was definitely a bit of wanting to play with the toy the other one had, but for the most part they played very well together. At one point, the two girls played with Maeve's tea party and ice cream set. Maeve actually tried to "pour" tea into the cups, while Rhea wanted to dump the box of cups on the floor and the pick them back up. I could definitely see Maeve thinking, "what is she doing?"

It was a fun day and Rhea was absolutely exhausted when we left. In fact, she took a rare second nap on the way home.

Sunday, we were treated to a series of visits from Rhea's aunts and uncles. First Auntie Gina and Uncle Brian stopped by. Unfortunately, Rhea was sleeping when they were here, but they left a nice present for her to enjoy when she woke up - thank you Auntie Gina and Uncle Brian!

Then, Auntie Danielle came by and watched Yo Gabba Gabba with us. After that, Rhea's other Uncle Bryan came by and had dinner with her. It was a nice treat to have all of the visitors and I think Rhea really enjoyed her day.
