We have been working over the past few weeks to change up Rhea's schedule so she is eating 3 meals a day, with a few snacks in between. It's nice now because I don't feel like all I am doing is feeding her and it gives us a lot more freedom to go out during the day, since all I have to bring is a snack and these snacks are starting to be more finger foods and less baby foods. Here is what her eating schedule looks like:
6:00 - wakes up, we get ready for the day
6:30 - breakfast
9:00 - snack
11:30 - lunch
2:30 - snack
5:00 - dinner
We have also gotten into the swing of her new nighttime routine and it is working out perfectly! Not only have we been able to stretch the time from her last bottle to when she goes to bed, we have also arranged it so when we bring her in her room for storytime, we don't leave again. Here is how Rhea's evenings look:
6:00 - bath
6:15 - last bottle of the night
6:20 - watch Yo Gabba Gabba and have a final 30 minutes of playtime to wind down for the night
6:50 - storytime
7:00 - bedtime
The nice thing about her schedule too is that on weekdays when we both work we have some playtime with her and are able to feed her dinner and give her the final bottle of the night. Although we get way too little time with her during the week, at least we do get some quality time in. The rule in our house is after work time is all Rhea time. We don't clean anything or cook anything until she goes to bed. Once she is in bed we usually have an hour or two of scrambling, which usually means eating dinner at 8:30 (which we have done plenty of times) and sweeping the floors at 9:00 at night (a now nightly chore for me since Rhea is crawling on those floors), but everything gets done, somehow and it's all worth it.
