Catchin' Up

It has been a busy couple of weeks, as anyone can tell by the lack of posts! The highlight of the past few weeks, of course, was Easter! Rhea had a blast! For the first time, she was super excited about the Easter Bunny. She sat right on his lap when we saw him at the mall and even gave him a hug goodbye. She talked about him non-stop for days leading up to Easter and that hasn't stopped now that the holiday has passed. In fact, every time she picks up something from her Easter Basket, she tells us "the Easter Bunny gave me this!"

The day before Easter, we went to the Army's Breakfast with the Easter Bunny. Rhea had fun - she was excited to see the Easter Bunny, although she hated waiting in line. She kept saying, "it's Rhea's turn now." And we kept saying, "not yet!" When it finally was Rhea's turn, she sat and posed for a great picture, took the goodie bag, looked inside and burst into tears! In her mind, the Easter Bunny was supposed to give her eggs and when she didn't see any eggs in her bag, she got upset. A quick explanation that Rhea would go find her own eggs made everything better!

The next day was fun. Rhea enjoyed her basket, especially the candy. It was seriously a battle to get her to eat anything other than M&M's and Pez candies! Auntie Sandy's was fun as usual and for the third time in a 3 weeks, Rhea saw the Easter Bunny because he came to our party and helped the kids find their eggs!

Moving on from Easter, the other highlights have been:

The beautiful weather - we've been lucky here to have gorgeous spring weather and even a few summer days. As a result, Rhea has remembered how much fun playing outside is and asks to go outside the minute she wakes up. The last two mornings we've had to spend 5 minutes outside before leaving for daycare!

Cooking in her kitchen - for Easter, we got Rhea new playfood and it has literally given her a new love for her play kitchen. She makes food for me, for Daddy for herself and for all of her dolls and stuffed animals. She even made a plate for memere and pepere today, even though they aren't here!

Jelly sandwiches - we've been given the green light to introduce Rhea to peanut butter and she now has no interest in in whatsoever. I've tried to give her a bite of my English Muffin w/ PB - she doesn't want it. I've tried to put some peanut butter on bread - she refuses to eat it. So, finally I asked her if she just wanted jelly and yes, she did and yes she likes it...so much so that the last two nights, that's what she's had for dinner!

Sponge Bob - I have come to hate Sponge Bob, but my daughter cannot get enough of him. I blame Daddy - he thought it would be a good idea to introduce Rhea to this show. And lately, this is all she wants to watch again and again. Her favorite episode was "Ripped Pants" until it was no longer available. Now, it's "A Fool in April," which really calls "Sponge Bob dirty" because Sponge Bob gets dirty in the episode. She could watch that over and over and over and over...I need to find a new show ASAP...
